Most inventions are the result of a need.  The bottle sling is no exception and it came about because I needed help feeding my daughter at 5:00 AM while trying to get ready for work that started at 6:30 AM.  My daughter was something of a slow poke eating in the morning and she liked to take her time but I didn't have an hour to feed her.  I tried propping a bottle while I was drying my hair but it was obvious that as she became more active nothing that rested on the chest would work.  I decided that there must be a way to hold the bottle at the correct angle for the baby while ensuring that the common movements of the infant would not interfere with its use.  Since I am also an engineer, I knew the best way to do it would be to suspend the bottle.  This way the bottle would always remain or return to position in front of the baby's mouth and the baby could practice holding the bottle.

I discovered that the product was handy to have for other times when I needed an extra hand and every time I used it in public I kept having people stop me to ask where I got it.  So I thought, I develop products for my employer ... why not one for myself.  

After several years of selling the original red bottle sling, I asked all my customers what they would like to see different in the bottle sling.  Everyone liked how it functioned but I had some who said they wished it were in a different color while others wanted a different type of fabric.  However I had one customer who wanted it to be more toy-like.  So I looked at the product and said to myself ... I can do that.  Within a few months the monkey bottle sling was created.  Now I have a puppy and a kitten as well as new colors for the monkey.  I really try to listen to the customer and am striving to continually make the product better.  I welcome any suggestions for improvement.
